immigrant.

i swallowed the earth

wanting to drown myself.

not all of me, just my hands,

my eyes, that little voice

that says, ‘no one will

know.’ & to my surprise i

found myself disappearing,

found myself buried in little

plots of land. i drowned

myself by swallowing

the earth. & wherever i

now go, i find a home.
